This one-day, in-person, interactive training aims to enhance understanding and skills related to trauma-informed care for individuals living with HIV. Key points include:
Defining Trauma: The training will delve into trauma’s impact on people with HIV and explore strategies for trauma-informed care.
Connection Between HIV and Trauma: Participants will gain knowledge about the relationship between HIV and trauma.
Principles of Trauma-Informed Care: The session will cover essential principles for providing trauma-informed services.
Building Resilience: Strategies to reduce trauma and promote resilience among people with HIV will be discussed.
Addressing Vicarious Trauma: Providers will learn effective approaches to respond to vicarious trauma when working with HIV patients.
Continuing Education Information:
Nursing: The course qualifies for 6.0 contact hours of continuing education credit for nurses (Provider # CPE13741).
Behavioral Health: Approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs.
Any activities within the program that do not have instructional time are not offered for continuing education credit. Course completion certificates will be awarded upon completion of course evaluations. Documentation must be retained by the Participant for a period of four years after the conclusion of the program.
